Home Assessment
Take a look around your home with the future in mind. Are you able to safely access all areas of your kitchen to cook your favorite meal? Can you easily exit and enter your home or access your bedroom and bathroom? Are the doorways wide enough for a walker or wheelchair? Can you safely enter and use your shower? Can you participate in your daily activities w/ peace of mind? If you answered “No” to any of these questions, a home assessment by our occupational therapist may be right for you.
The home assessment and modifications are to allow an individual to remain in their home as they age, live as independently and safely as possible with a progressive neurological condition/neurodegenerative disease and/or to decrease their fall risk with day to day activities. Our goal is to understand each client’s needs and wants, as well as where the activity will be performed, in order to create an individualized plan to improve your safety and maximize your independence in your home. We can provide recommendations for simple modifications (remove throw rugs, grab bars, railings for the stairs, move furniture, shower chair, new door knobs, etc) or more complex modifications (ramps to enter, stair lift, roll in shower, tub lift, wheelchair accessible cabinets in the kitchen/bathroom, etc). We look forward to helping you or your loved one remain in their home with increased safety and independence.
